Sinthia Solomon (Zolitur) and Freddy Fernandez from the Honduran version of the I.R.S. auditing department came on the show to talk about a recent plan that was just announced a few days ago to reduce the amount of petro the country is having to buy. The country wants to inforce this new ruling which originally was not to include Roatan, in just a few days. Dave Oliver with Herb Morici. Dave played briefly with the Cleveland Indians before coming a Major League coach. In college, his 226 career hits held the Cal Poly record for 23 years, and his .320 career average and 112 runs ranked in the top 10 at the time of his induction. He also ranked second to Ozzie Smith in at bats with 706 and third with 13 career triples.

He used his baseball knowledge to produce a stellar career as a manager and coach. He was the Manager of the Year for the Triple A Oklahoma City 89ers and also served as a major league coach with the Texas Rangers and Boston Red Sox where he coached players like Nolan Ryan, Roger Clemens, Ivan Rodriguez and many others. The first fifteen minutes of the November 11th, 2005 show. In studio that day was Lic. Wilita Bennett who has opened a new school to teach nursing on the island, and Lic. Ellen Frazier in charge of the AIDS/HIV testing and treatment at the downtown Roatan public hospiral. Also at the studio with them was members of the local rap group "KingSquad." Krazzy, Don Chulo,Versital and others there to promote the fundraising concert that night. 15 Minutes.

The Security Meeting - Coxen Hole

On November 10th, several of the most prominant leaders on the island gathered in response to the recent rise in crime on the island. Congressman Evans McNab (pictured here) led a historical group of people all coming together for the very first time. Governor Janice Johnson, National Police Commissario Jorge Carias, Municipal Police Chief Joseph Solomon, a judge, a representative of the Fiscalia and a representative of the DA's office were all in attendance. Much progress was made in the commitment to prosecute criminals. The next day, several criminals were arrested. 27 Minutes.


On March 5th, the Roatan community gathered to elect a new owner of RECO. After months of governmental manipulation, the people of Roatan remained determined to have who they wanted as owner of RECO. On March 6th, the community again gathered in mass to vote. Kelcy Warren's company won by a huge margin. The New Nursing School - After eight years of trying, Lic. Wilita Bennett, a nurse at the Roatan Public Hospital, has started a Nursing School sponsored by a Swedish group. This one time, two year program needs to continue long after this initial two year commitment. On Friday July 7th, Arlie Thompson was officially inaugurated as the new Governor of the Bay Islands by the President Mel Zelaya. On September 8th, 2006, Singer Kristen Diable from NYC came on the show to speak about singing career and her appearance at Land's End in The West End. 18 Minutes.
On February 16th, 2007, and just two weeks before his intimely dealth, the late Nickolai Winter from the Roatan Yacht Club was invited to the show to share what he learned from his research on Internet service providers. His in depth investigation helped him decide for himself what service to start with for his clients. His added responsibility of having an antenea on a high spot that supports Internet service on the East End made his study and undertaking a more serious one kniowing that the outcome would effect many people. (On March 2nd, Nickolai was murdered on the grounds of the Roatan Yacht Club. The Police investigation has not yet come up with the killer.)
Dr. Howard Gruber and Dr. Gil Duritz from Global Healing came in the show. They were representing their group out of the Bay Area in California who constantly send doctors to the downtown public hospital in Coxen Hole. An added attraction! Rich Wilson and Alejandro Parades - Roatan has been selected as one of the three pilot sites for the ICRAN MAR, the sustainable tourism movement in Mesoamerica. This duo held workshops in Roatan, to engage the marine recreation industry and the community in general to start developing environmental and safety standards that will help improve conditions on the reef.
